The Next Steps website helps connect students and their families with resources that help students prepare for life after high school. These files, which provide print and digital marketing assets, can help your school or district promote the site and encourage use of Next Steps Idaho by school staff, students, and families.


Idaho Public TV: Journey to Education

Working with the State Board of Education, Idaho Public Television has produced a series stories from real-life Idaho high school graduates, who talk about how they weighed their options for life after high school and arrived at a decision. These vignettes help give students ideas about some of the choices they might make to continue their education and choose a career.

College and Career Advising Program

The Governor’s Taskforce identified proper college and career advising as one of the key factors for student success at the secondary and postsecondary level and a critical investment in order for Idaho to reach its 60% goal. The College and Career Advising Program provides school districts and charter schools with additional funding to be used to enhance existing programs or develop new research based programs for providing college and career counseling to students in grades 8 through 12.


Direct Admissions – Guide for Families

In late September, your high school senior will receive a letter from the State Board of Education. This letter will notify you which Idaho colleges and/or universities have accepted your student based on his/her grades and SAT/ACT scores. Parents will receive reminder letters in October.
