Open to Idaho residents who are veterans or children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren of a veteran. Student must be between the ages of 17 and 35. Selection based on academic or employment record and financial need.

Procedure:

Complete application and submit with eligible veteran’s certificate of honorable discharge (Form DD-214), three (3) letters of recommendation, financial statement, high school transcript including ACT or SAT scores, and letter of application. Complete a non-traditional application if out of high school more than two years.

Description:

The Idaho Latino Scholarship Foundation (ILSF) seeks to promote the success of Idaho Latino families by providing scholarships for students to attend college. We seek to create partnerships and build programs that support and grow the number of Latino students earning college degrees.

All applications will be reviewed by the ILSF Scholarship Committee and scored on the following criteria:

• Quality of essay
• Academic achievement
• Demonstrated leadership qualities
• Involvement in service to school, community, family
• Financial need

Finalists will be required to conduct an interview with the scholarship selection committee.
All scholarship winners will be notified by email or phone call and will be invited to attend a recognition luncheon with the Idaho Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in June.

• Must be in good standing and making satisfactory progress (as formally defined by the institution) toward the student’s program objective (degree, diploma, or certificate)
• Must have a cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.5 and above
• Be a high school student in Idaho and/or be attending an institution (university, college, vocational/technical or other) in Idaho for undergraduate studies
• Have demonstrated leadership in school, community and/or other service organizations that promote, enhance or strengthen diversity
• Live in Idaho and be of Hispanic/Latino descent

The McClendon Engineering Inc. Scholarship intends to provide financial support for high school seniors in the Treasure Valley planning on perusing a degree in Structural Engineering or Architecture. One (1) student will be selected to receive $1,000 one time only. This scholarship is non-renewable.

The 2019 Most Valuable Student scholarship contest is open to any high school senior who is a US Citizen.

Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.

Awards:

• The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2019 competition.
• Male and female students compete separately.
• Ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university.
• The Chicago office of the Elks National Foundation will announce the 2019 500 national winners in late April 2019. (Many local Lodges, districts and state Elks associations award their own scholarships through this program. These scholarships are not to be confused with the 500 Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarships.)

 

 

Procedure:

The 20 top finalists will participate in an all expenses paid Leadership Weekend in Chicago during which they’ll interview with the national judges. These 20 finalists will be vying for two first-place awards of $50,000; two second-place awards of $40,000; and two third-place awards of $30,000. The remaining 14 finalists will receive awards of $20,000. The 480 runners-up will receive fifth-place scholarships of $4,000.
