College and Career Advising Program

The Governor’s Taskforce identified proper college and career advising as one of the key factors for student success at the secondary and postsecondary level and a critical investment in order for Idaho to reach its 60% goal. The College and Career Advising Program provides school districts and charter schools with additional funding to be used to enhance existing programs or develop new research based programs for providing college and career counseling to students in grades 8 through 12.

Templates have been created to provide information for educators regarding funding requirements, college and career advising planning and reporting requirements, and information regarding each of the models.

Where to start

  • Read the FAQs to understand the program requirements, your funding allocation, and what your school/district reporting and accountability requirements.
  • Review the different model programs your school(s) might choose to implement below and/or watch the webinars that explain each model.  The success of each model is contingent on the implementation at the school level.  It is the responsibility of the school district or charter school to monitor the implementation of the chosen model and make necessary adjustment based on the needs of the students and specific resources available.
